Where to Drink
Grab a drink in Paris’ 11’eme
Wandering around Paris’ 11’eme? Here’s where to stop and grab a drink.
While the Eiffel Tower is a sight for sore eyes, Paris is much more than the views from Trocadero and Champs Elysées as the locals will no doubt tell you or let you discover on your own in due time! Not explored by tourists much, 11’eme is popular amongst locals and students and is known for its always-busy streets, restaurants, and bars.
From Republique and Bastille to Oberkampf and Temple - here are some of our favorite drinking spots in the 11’eme.
Le Clown Bar

Home to one of the largest natural wine cellars in France, Le Clown Bar has been serving its authentic French dishes to locals and tourists since 2013. The bar, with its many practices, commits to responsible and ethical cuisine and drinks. In fact, Le Clown Bar is now listed as a historic monument in the city. Start off your meal with an uber-delicious ball of burrata, followed by duck foie gras, and finish with hot chocolate and a scoop of ice cream. And while you eat, don’t forget to pick from their list of natural wines to pair with your meal.

The original of the Perchoir bars, Le Perchoir Ménilmontant’s rooftop is the ideal place to enjoy a cocktail and take in the views of the city. From wines, beers, ciders, and cocktails to hard-seltzers and mocktails, Le Perchoir has something for every drinker. We love the Lochlan, made with Bellevoye Bleu Whiskey, Dolin Rouge Vermouth, Dolin Dry Vermouth, Bitter Angostura & Angostura Orange. You can also go for the Blu Twist, which is made with the resto-bar’s house gin, lemon juice, lavender syrup, organic Le Perchoir tonic, bitter chamomile Boston Bitters.

Push your way through the metal door of the walk-in fridge at Pizza Da Vito, and voila! - an American prohibition-inspired speakeasy is in front of you. With a quiet atmosphere, dim lighting, and retro jazz on the gramophone, Moonshiner is ideal for a quiet night with friends or a first date. When it comes to drinks, Moonshiner is known for its range of whiskey cocktails. We recommend the El Brazo De Plata, which is made with tequila blanco, whiskey tourbé (peated whiskey), Cap Course Mattei reserve rouge, and a selection of fortified wine.

Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin on the speakers and a gin cocktail in hand - that’s the definition of bliss. Named after a poem by Bukowski, Bluebird is from the mixologists at Moonshiner and is the perfect place to experience everything gin. From Belgian craft gins, Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation, to cult favorites like Beefeater gin - Bluebird has it all. While the menu is mostly dominated by gin cocktails like the Clover Club (Beefeater gin, cocoa butter, homemade raspberry syrup, egg whites, and lemon juice), the bar also offers other options like vodka-based Cloud Nine (Philosophe Vodka infused with hibiscus, agave and kumquat syrup, Merlet Lune d’Abricot liqueur, lemon juice, and timut pepper) along with non-alcoholic options on demand.

Le Marilyn

Just like the name suggests, Le Marilyn is a Marilyn Monroe-themed bar, donning portraits of the American actress on retro-tiled walls. The bar gives off a speakeasy vibe with its cave-like interiors and dim lights - but it leaves no space for boredom. Along with its signature Marilyn Monroe cocktail, the bar also has a few cocktails named after the Kennedy brothers - keeping the Monroe-Kennedy flame alive. If you’re a rum lover, we recommend the Kiss me Kennedy...oh oui!, made with Rhum ambré, lemon juice, grenadine, and mint. They also have a range of non-alcoholic options available.
